Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I do see a pretty big difference in color accuracy between the DV SL created by DVDFab and the DL DV rip, not just in Joker but in the screenshot from Hereditary as well. Oh well.
I see something up with Joker for sure (hadn't seen that comparison before), but those last two screenshots of Hereditary (dual layer vs single layer) look pretty much the same to these old eyeballs. there's more contrast in the curtains and things like that, but the color seems the same to me, shrug..

The difference is a little more pronounced when doing side by side comparisons.

The wall in the DV copy looks a little more blue, for instance.

Tbh to my eyes the DVDFab copy actually looks better here than the actual UHD DV, but I like to watch and listen to things as they were intended by the creators. Hopefully that doesn’t come off as snobby, I just like having the most accurate representation of how something was intended to be seen or heard.

I just can't wait for the dual to single layer tool comes out, then I can rest at ease knowing it looks as accurate as we can get.

Yes so it looks like the version of TSmuxer linked to a few posts back can definitely mux DV and thd+ac3 and is recognisable by Plex so we're nearly set....

if i take the full movie ts that wont play atmos on plex and remux it again in the test build this time, then atmos works...

so.... not ideal but this allow DV + atmos on plex shield.
1- create SL DV in dvdfab
2- create TS with atmos in build: nightly-2020-02-23--01-10-39.zip
3- remux again in test build: https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21A ... ion=locate
I can confirm this method also works with BL_EL_RPU_dvhe.07.06.mp4 muxed with Atmos, so now DV + Atmos works on the shield :)

This is definitely the best hope we have for real DV + atmos on the shield. All the dv info and hd-audio data is intact so it's finally the first fully lossless dv remux that works on a non standalone player. I'm trying to make a simple tool to create them based on yusesope's mad hax but I never have enough time to be efficient :(

The other bonus is that it looks like these ts files are playable on non DV hardware so I can play them on my other TVs with Kodi.

So I started just messing around with reading hex from a text file and searching for blocks of the required hex code and pasting it into a new text file in the correct order for the BL+EL+RPU file. Only thing is that I am using an array and it is using way too much RAM especially if the text file is GBs big. Any ideas on what to do?

Tried and working apart the "usual" problem. Everything looks good, but if I pulled back to play another file, the entire screen is smeared with colorful mosaics like a broken screen. This is very annoying.

yep, bummer... still not recognized on the C8 and same ''play only one time'' bug on the x700.

Has anyone had it where the TV displays the Dolby Vision icon but the video is very washed out and the black bars on the video are pretty much bright gray?

yep, this happened to me when I tried to remux a DL DV MP4 to DV TS. my fix was to demux the mp4 first with ''dlb_mp4demux'' and then build a new TS.
