Thanks Mike!

Well, I'm actually able to open disc 1 now, but it fails during the rip. I have disc 2 and 3 ripped successfully.

I got mine from Amazon and tried to rip disc 1 twice and both times got a "fatal error" after about 1 1/2 hours. I haven't tried the other discs yet.

I purchased my original set from Amazon US, Disc 1 would not load, Disc 2 loaded but I could only rip one episode, I have had similar trouble before which was resolved by buying a different copy from a different supplier, this worked in this case as well. I went to Best Buy, they have the same packaging, the Steelbook but I took a chance and purchased it, I brought it home and was able to load all three discs and rip all episodes successfully.

I got mine last night but didn't get a chance to rip them yet. On my agenda for today.

My thoughts are the same. If my copy doesn't work next week, I will go to a brick-and-mortar store and give it another go. I definitely feel delivery firms are too rough these packages, and it doesn't help that they are stacked discs too...

These discs are VERY touchy. I honestly believe after looking at them that it's the stupid label that's causing reflective problems from the back side of the disc. I'm reading disc #1 right now and it seems to be going for now. But my NS60 refused to read it. I threw it in the ASUS drive, and it still had issues recognizing the disc, but, eventually it did and now I'm doing a full decrypted folder backup. We'll see how that goes.

EDIT:

Disc 1 ripped to unprotected folder backup just fine. Working on disc 2...

Disc 2 ripped to unprotected folder backup just fine. Working on disc 3...

I ripped Disc 2 and 3 okay (though it seemed like it was struggling). I had to wait for the update to be able to read disc 1. Now it reads, but I've only been able to rip episodes 1 and 2. The 3rd episode fails with about 6 min. left.

Trying on another drive on another computer that was having issues with other titles, but now that I've updated makemkv on that computer, it seems to be going smooth so far. It's still early though, but it's also reading much faster (and it's a slower computer/drive).

I meant to update my post again to say I successfully read all 3 discs in my Asus drive. Once it finally started reading the disc it went through no problem. Initially reading the disc took a while though before there drive recognized it. I just let it go till it recognized it and started the full decrypted folder backup.

Update: The other computer/drive also failed on episode 3. Going to go to the store and get a replacement. Hopefully, that will work.

Since I got mine from Amazon, I ended up asking for a replacement. Hopefully the replacement doesn't have the same issue?

Update on my new copy from the store - it also fails on episode 3. That's on my WH14NS40. My ASUS drive is failing to read it.

Hi

unfortunately I still have the problem with a replaced version from Amazon, Disc 1, I'm not able to make a backup from.
Even with Version 1.14.7 it is not working, Disc 2 and 3 no problem. Im using an Asus BW-16D1HT.

My Amazon replacement worked where disc 1 will now complete with MakeMKV.
