Alien 40th Anniversary problems -- disc or drive? (Update: apparently disc. Worked after cleaning with Novus.)

Consistent errors while trying to rip Alien 40th Anniversary. Have successfully ripped several other UHD discs with the same drive. Browsing other threads it's not clear to me whether this is more likely to be a problem with the disc itself or the drive/disc combination. To my untrained eye the errors in the log look more like drive/software issues being reported than just bits not arriving from the disc. All the same, I've gone through cleaning the disc and upping the number of retries, also trying the drive on different systems, all with the same result.

Different angle on the same question: has anyone successfully ripped the Alien 40th Anniversary UHD with a WH16NS40 on firmware 1.02 in an external enclosure?

I have successfully ripped just the movie using the same drive. Sometimes you need to clean the disc multiple times, as some discs are very finicky.

Thanks, and that seems to have been it. I cleaned with Novus #2 and #1 in succession, using first a microfiber then a lens cloth. I couldn't really tell any difference visually, but: disc ripped successfully.
