Thanks shawnc22 for the info. As it stands I've been able to rip The Deer Hunter, Hunter Killer and i'm about 1/2 of the way through Braveheart...choosing the offerings without the chapter markers seems to be the way to go...

I'm kinda surprised cleaning the discs with my dogs toothpaste didn't ruin anything...at the time I did it I thought..."they aint workin anyway and no retailers are willing to exchange the discs"...

Maybe these discs aren't as fragile as thought?

By no means am I suggesting anyone try dog toothpaste!

go figure

Now 10 out of 12...but these last 2, The Invisible Man and Casino are being jerks! The Invisible Man can be read but after ripping approx 12gb's it fails due to a corrupt mts file. Casino can't be read at this point. Thats ok...I got plenty of dog toothpaste!

Just an FYI on disc cleaning....microfiber cloths are the preferred method. LOL Work from inside straight out to the edge, rotate the disc, repeat until you're all the way around.

Was able to get Casino ripped...that left The Invisible Man as the only politician left that just doesn't want to get along. Attached is the log...pure Greek to me. Anyone see anything telling?

Thanks again for everyones help!

Epilogue...As it turned out, Target allowed me to return The Invisible Man to a local store. Turns out Target doesn't stock the 4k version of this movie at their stores so I could only get a refund...which was fine because I didn't really care for the movie. I'd watched it on the bluray disc long before I got a 4k tv. I had to present my debit card as proof of purchase and they gave me a refund. Yes, I did remove the bluray copy from my computer as well as the extras.

I then went and purchased the 4k version of "Glory"....got it and it ripped with no problem.

So in essence I think the whole matter got solved.

thanks to everyones assistance.
