Thanks Marty completely forgot about flashing it to 3.10MK. Cabin Fever has gotten the best of me. Problem solved.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 12:46 amThat error sounds like what you would get when using the LG flasher. What firmware are you trying to flash? You do know that for 3.10, you need to flash 3.10-MK first, before flashing any other firmware.pizzlet17 wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 9:29 pmHi Everyone - I recently purchased Asus BW-16D1HT external drive. I flashed this same drive almost 6 months ago, but had to replace it as it wasn't reading UHD or regular Blu-rays anymore. I've gone through these steps but every time I run Marty's program I keep getting "CheckSum is mismatched. Drive will go to BOOT mode Please retry again." Can someone help me out please?MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 3:30 amHi everyone,
Just to give you all another option, I have modified the official ASUS ODD FW Flasher tool to allow the user to flash or cross-flash their drive to a "UHD Friendly" firmware.
Included with the ASUS Flasher, is the 'DE' UHD friendly firmwares we are currently using with the LG Flasher tool.
Also, if you happen to use your own clean firmware file that hasn't been 'DE' enabled, this app will automatically make the file 'DE' enabled and save it.
It is very easy to use:
1. Run ASUS_ODD_FW_Changer_(Modified).exe.
2. In popup window, select a firmware file to flash. (If you click CANCEL, the auto default firmware is ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.02)
3. When the main interface opens, select your drive (if not already selected)
4. Hit "START" button. The drive tray will open. Once firmware flash is completed, drive tray will close again.
5. Done.
EDIT (24.08.2019): I have updated the Modified ASUS Flasher which will now allow:
- The LG BP60NB10 external UHD drive to be flashed with firmware LG_BP60NB10_1.00_MK only.
- The LG BP50NB40 external Blu-Ray drive to be flashed with firmware LG_BP50NB40-NB50_1.01_MK only. (Not UHD friendly but enables libredrive.)
EDIT (03.09.2019):
I have created 2 modified (hybrid = HBD) firmwares solely for the BP50NB40. Firmware BP60NB10_1.00_MK_HBD will allow you to flash your BP50NB40 to BP60NB10. Firmware BP50NB40-NB50_1.01_MK_HBD will allow you to go back to BP50NB40_1.01_MK if you ever require it. The firmware zip is below.
EDIT (01.01.2020):
If your BP50NB40 has firmware 1.02, please flash firmware BP50NB40 NB50 1.02 MK from the MK pack, then you can cross-flash using the hybrid BP60NB10 1.00 firmware.
Hybrid_Firmware_for_BP50NB40_to_BP60NB10.zip
EDIT (22.05.2020):
Below is the link to the modified ASUS FW Flasher + Downgrade Enabled Firmware + the latest MK firmware pack (15/04/2020):
https://www.mediafire.com/file/rbpk3iik ... 9.zip/file
Here is just the modified ASUS Flasher if you don't need the firmwares. Just put it in the folder with the firmwares.

Hi, I've had an ASUS BC-12D2HT for a long time but only recently discovered the on-the-fly decryption capabilities of MakeMKV and wanted to try it out instead of relying on AnyDVD. However, the UHD sleep bug is absolutely killing me. Has anyone had any luck flashing this drive with some other firmware that fixes this?

Hey guys.
I have an BW-16D1HT flashed to UHD friendly 3.10MK (ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10-WM01601-211901041014.bin).
Now i have read your post that an cross-flash is possible to eliminate the sleep bug.
Sadly i am an flash noob and dont want to brick my working drive.
Have downloaded the latest 22.05. ASUS flash package with modified flasher.
Can you please post me an correct guide with links and names to firmare files how to correctly cross flash without messing my drive useless?
Taht would be really nice.

To get rid of the sleep bug, you need to cross-flash to WH16NS60 firmware.popyMKV wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 8:07 amand @MartyMcNuts

You will find firmware "HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936" in the "MK\HL-DT-ST\WH16NS60" folder. Just flash this firmware and you should be good to go.
Cheers

Do i have to go to "DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT_3.02.bin" like mentioned from @Romeoz or just flash from my current one:
"ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10-WM01601-211901041014.bin" to your mentioned "MK\HL-DT-ST\WH16NS60\HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936"
Sorry for all this questions, just want to brick anything.
UPDATE: Flashed -> DE_3.02 and then to the suggested "MK\HL-DT-ST\WH16NS60\HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936" can read UHDs and sleep bug gone. Thanks a lot

I tried to flash my BP50NB40 drive, but unfortunately I found its SVC is NB40
Is there any plan or existing firmware for BP50NB40-NB40? I believe SVC is the only reason I cannot flash.
This is my ODD info for just in case (from makemkv).

Your drive is already LibreDrive enabled. Cross-flashing for UHD readability can still work for SVC NB40's. (I've flashed a couple myself).
If you want UHD readability, you need to flash (in order):
- from the MK pack: HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.01-NM00200-211711231615
- from the hybrid firmware zip file: DE_LG_BP50NB40-NB50_1.01_MK_HBD
- from the hybrid firmware zip file: DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.00_MK_HBD
Once you done this, your drive should appear as a BP60NB10 UHD drive.
Cheers

I've tried them all, but all of them only give me Failure #5, which is why I thought SVC NB40 is not (fully) supported.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 3:24 amNot sure what you are asking for......sim2man wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 11:12 pmI tried to flash my BP50NB40 drive, but unfortunately I found its SVC is NB40

I can still backup non-UHD BDs so it seems to work ok, so I cannot find any reason to fail other than SVC.
Do you have any idea?

I'd say you are right. I noticed the firmware date is early 2015, so this drive will most likely never work with UHD.sim2man wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 7:37 amI've tried them all, but all of them only give me Failure #5, which is why I thought SVC NB40 is not (fully) supported.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 3:24 amNot sure what you are asking for......sim2man wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 11:12 pmI tried to flash my BP50NB40 drive, but unfortunately I found its SVC is NB40

I just had to create an account to thank you for your guide! I have no clue if I did the steps in the right order, but whatever I did, it worked!
I have an LG BP50NB40 1.02 which didn't work when putting in a UHD. Did two flashes and now it works like a charm!

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri
I bought the Asus BW-16D1HT optical drive in my country.
With ASUS ODD FW Changer I successfully installed the 3.10MK firmware (ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10-WM01601-211901041014.bin).
But big problem, none of my 4 films bought recently in UHD worked with MakeMKV. The reader was making a lot of noise. I tried several times to open and close the drawer.
I then tried to flash other firmware (DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT_3.01.bin and DE_LG_WH16NS60_1.00.bin) but there is only firmware WH16NS60 1.02MK which works and accepts BR UHD with MakeMKV (HL- DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin).
But again a new problem, it works with MakeMKV but not with DVDFab (the software detects that the installed firmware is not accepted). And since the other firmwares do not launch blu-ray uhd it's complicated ...
Am I the only one having this problem?
Thanks for your help
