I've tried that and it says it's not recognising my USB device... seems it's 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards :/

I'm trying to create a WinPE book USB with Acronis now.

i'm still working on getting a working windowsPE disk working and managing to boot from it, but im just about there... question though....

How do I get the files to work with while in WindowsPE? Do I download them when in there or put them on the USB disk?

Thanks.

I’m in now with the tools but when I open DosFlash it’s not detecting my drive. Just says ‘No ATAPI device present’. It’s set to ID mode and i’m using a 32 bit version of WinPE created with the tool linked in the video.

Could there be a bios setting i’m missing?

how is your drive hooked up sata?
because dosflash only works over sata
some people say having the dive in the first sata port helps on some motherboards, on mine in works in all of them but its something to try

It's on Sata yeah, but I have around 8 sata ports and it's on about number 6. So are you saying unplug ALL sata's and plug it into the first available one with no hard drives plugged in?

hdds should not matter just swap it from 6 to 1 and see if dos flash sees it then

Okay, I've flashed it and I think it's worked...

It's reading standard DVDs and it knows there's a blu-ray in there and identifies it but I am unable to play it with VLC Player... does that mean it worked but VLC Player doesn't support Blu-Rays or did it not work?

if it sees disks it worked vlc supports blurays but not out of the box you need a key file or use makemkvs libs

Sorry just one more question... The firmware I flashed to get it back up and running, is that the latest firmware or do I need to update it now from LG? If I need to update it can you point me in the right direction of the correct file so I don't mess it up again please?

he dug up the firmware for you i always have trouble finding that we should probably make an ns40 recovery thread with all the things perma linked to we don't need to find them everytime.

but just leave the drive alone at this point it reads blurays and dvds its fine and i think it is the latest for that drive anyway.
