Lg WH14NS40 Rebuilt computer and now Libredrive

Post by Kenbell »

I have been a long time user of MakeMKV. Long story short here's my drive info:

Drive Information
OS device name: E:
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE WH14NS40
Revision: 1.00
Serial number: K9EC4LE0228
Firmware date: 2112-02-09 11:26
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 72

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1939
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.00
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Partial
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

I rebuilt my computer upgrading processor, motherboard etc. After the update my drive now shows it's Libredrive compatible. My drive has the original firmware version 1.00.

Will my drive listed above be able to rip 4K movies?

It takes a lot longer to process and load my bluray disc's since Libredrive has been active. Is that normal?

Thanks in advance for any and all help. :o

First of all, LibreDrive does not equal 4K UHD ripping.

No, this drive will never be able to read 4K discs. It is simply far too old and doesn't have the right hardware. Please see this thread viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634&sid=ce4c349d ... d95#p74718
Cheers :D
