Panasonic will not do libredrive
I can't find it now but I think a long time ago I saw a spacer using a 9.5mm drive in a 12.7 slot.

If you can go for a pioneer they are way better

Nope. Get yourself a 12.7 to 9.5mm adapter and either a LG BU40N or a Pioneer BDR-UD04 (firmware dated before Dec 2022). Both drives can enable Libre drive and also allow you to rip UHD discs.
Cheers :D

I have seen them before somewhere. Quite hard to find though... You might just be better of getting an external slim drive.

Some internet searching brought me back around to a thread I commented in here on this forum. :D

A 9.5mm optical drive should line up and fit, electrically, in a 12.7mm bay. The screw holes might not line up. And the front plate on a 9.5mm optical drive is not going to cover the 12.7mm hole, but supposedly a 12.7mm front plate can be installed on the drive.

LibreDrive and reading UHD are not the same thing

That's not exactly true for pioneers the guide is LG focused pioneers can do UHD going back to 2013 bdr 208 and newer is kinda a good way to look at it but remember guys there is no public flasher for these you would have to spoof the pioneers flasher if you want to diy
