Help please

Hi i have a LG BH16NS55 with WH16NS60 v1.02mk, 4K, Ultra HD, UHD Friendly! but the sata connector is totally broken and needs replacing-i have opened it board simply unscrews any help where i can get a replacement- could i possibly use a similar board on a optical drive-shame really was working fine with your makemkv app.

i think the sata connectors should be fairly standard it you can solder it on by using another donner device or buying one just make sure it looks similar

Hello,
IMHO, replacing the whole PCB is not a good solution. The old one has a memory in it (where the firmware is stored, amongst other things) and these information may pertain precisely to the mechanical part of the drive. Obviously, the other board from the other drive may not be so tuned to the mechanics...
On the other hand, replacing the SATA connector on the PCB could/should be easy provided the one used is a standard one. Go with your PCB to a computer store and ask for the repair guy. Ask him you would like to see the dead hard drives he has and get a dead disk drive with the same connector. Unsolder from the disk and solder it on the optical drive PCB and you're done.
Bear in mind that these electronics may be sensitive to static electricity... So some precautions are de rigeur.

i was thinkg thats what he meant not swapping out the whole pcb
as above says you have to solder not unscrew it if your replace whole pcb just buy a new drive
