WH16NS40 Firmware for rip UHD

Post by marcobb0312 »

Hi, I am planning to rip my UHD collection with DVDFab and will buy the WH16NS40 on Amazon, I assume it is FW 1.05 and SVC:NS50

I reference many posts here but would like to confirm again my step is right and safe, thanks.

1. Use the SDFtool Flasher (v1.3.5)
2. Flash the "HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS40-NS50-1.05-NM00900-212005061440" with enable encryption to the drive, it image located at "mk-firmware-pack-20200720" folder.
3. Flash again the drive use "DE_LG_WH16NS40_1.02_NS50"

Then it can work with DVDFab for rip UHD, right ?

No. WH16NS60 firmware is recommended.

Flash the drive directly to WH16NS60 1.02-MK from the "old" folder of the MK firmware pack then if you want to use DVDfab, fllash it again to DE_LG_WH16NS60_1.00
Cheers :D

For the BC-12D2HT, I really couldn't say for sure which firmware is compatible with DVDFab, You could try BC-12D2HT 3.11-MK but it may not work as most (if not all) MK firmwares don't work with DVDFab. You could then maybe flash it to BC-12D2HT 3.00 firmware if you can find it. FYI, I do not recommend that ASUS drive model!
