Recommendations for external blu ray drives for ripping

Post by yaboi123 »

Hey everyone.
Im a beginner when it comes to this stuff so i figured i would ask here. Im looking for an external Blu ray drive mainly for ripping.
Does it require any form of firmware/software to rip non-UHD blu rays?

Hope somebody will help me.

No but why not be future proof a little and get a BU40N USB and you can flash it to work with uhd if you ever want it or buy one from me ready to go

Would a used BU40N be a good idea? Or might it have been updated firmware wise?

Used is not a good idea on this I would say not for the firmware but for how much life the drive has left
