Need help with libredrive

Post by Cakeandpie »

I have a USB LG BP50NB40 blu-ray drive that I want to have libredrive enabled on it. How do you accomplish this? The SVC is NB50 and it was manufactured in 2019. The firmware revision is 1.01

Does MakeMKV recognize it as a potential LD? There should be a section of the info window dedicated to LibreDrive if it can be done. Both the drive and controller (USB in this case) need to be correct.

1. To enable LibreDrive, you can use the sdftool flasher to flash it to BP50NB40-NB50 1.01-MK firmware.

2. If you also want UHD capabilities, you can then flash it from BP50NB40-NB50 1.01-MK to BP60NB10 1.00-MK firmware.
Cheers :D

Could you provide a link to the flasher please? Thanks.

Search forum for "sdftool flasher" and you will find it. Or click the link provided by @d00zah.

You will also need the firmware pack. If you haven't already downloaded the firmware pack, you can grab it from viewtopic.php?f=19&t=19113

Okay, thanks. Also I didn't mention that this is an external USB blu-ray drive, not an internal one. Is that important?

Nope, not at all. I have flashed plenty of BP50NB40's!! Follow the steps I provided and you should be fine.
