Important notice: Pioneer optical drives are not recognized by macOS Ventura 13.2, released by Apple on January 23, 2023. My S13EBK arrived yesterday in perfect condition, with brand new packaging and stock firmware. I have to say, it's fantastic, the best ODD I've ever seen, outlasts anything from LG or ASUS. It's the pinnacle model of Pioneer ODDs (only next to S13E-X), which provides the ultimate disc-processing experience.
I had a Pionner S09-XLB a few years ago, it can't read UHD discs but it reads everything else within 3 secs, so this made me wonder if the S13EBK could read UHD discs that fast as well. It turned out that my assumption is right. This little cutie reads every disc super fast with silence, stability & efficiency. When I rip a disc, unlike the LG or ASUS ODDs, the ripping speed is extremely stable, without any obvious fluctuation throughout the whole process, and of course, it has no crazy seeking noise at all, I can do anything without getting disturbed.
Last but not least, like any other Pioneer ODDs, the price is relatively higher compared to the other manufacturers, but it lives up to my every expectation of a seamless drive, worths every penny of it. Pioneer really is, the top in this business.

I've just received my second UHD drive from UHD Friendly Drives, having quite literally used the previous one until it started to wear out, with it now starting to throw up hardware errors.

Having looked at the discussions, this time I went for a Pioneer unit, the excellent BDR-XS07TUHD, after having been through the extensive notes about each drive and their relative strengths that Asmcom sends through. Given the potential pitfalls of picking a suitable drive - prior to finding UHD Friendly Drives I'd bought and returned UHD drives from Amazon - it is great to have someone who can advise and supply exactly what I needed.

Moving on to the drive, I've suddenly got a whole load more space on my desk as the new unit is tiny compared to my older drive. It's also so much quieter, so unlike the grinding noises that the old drive used to produce there is just the occasional whirring as it scans. It's also living up to the reputation of the Pioneer drives for reading discs where others fail, with only one fail which is a disc that has an obvious scratch on it which I threw at it as probably my most challenging disc.

All in all an excellent service all around, and I'm sure I'll be turning to UHD Friendly Drives when I next need a drive.

I concur with all the previous feedback: after an issue with my drive due to a bad usage from my side (lesson learnt: never open the tray when the drive is upside down ), I sent it to asmcom for repair. They repaired it in a couple of days, and quickly sent it back to me.
The support service is great: they answered very quickly to my email and provided a repair quote at a very fair price.

Hi there. Interested in ordering one of the pioneer drives but wanted to ask whether option to purchase an internal drive + casing, so its then external is better than one of the external slimline models from the perspective of resilience, performance and build quality.
I appreciate they are all pioneer drives but wanted to see if you could advise on whether the larger form factor of the internal drives offers anything from these perspectices.

Do anyone now where I could get the BDR-XS07TUHD since it has the USB-C functionality? I tried the Whats App but it seems the responses might go faster in the forums

So I'm nev Guy here With the main purpose of digitize my old physical library.
BTW I heard some have problems with Comapct Discs from the 80's and 90's is that true?

Just recently joined the 4k ripping. Asmcom guided me through the process of getting my first drive. Ended up getting a Pioneer Portable BDR-XD07TS crossflashed with BDR-XD07TUHD and including LibreDrive. After a fast delivery, the drive arrived on Tuesday and so far worked beyond expectations.
