vlc: No usable AACS libraries found!

Post by tcrass »

Hi there,

this used to work some months ago, but now, when trying to open a bluray disk in vlc (2.2.4 Weatherwax (revision 2.2.3-37-g888b7e89)), I get:

Code: Select all

...
aacs.c:110: No usable AACS libraries found!
aacs.c:313: get_aacs_data(DISC_ID): libaacs not initialized!
dec.c:197: aacs_open() failed: -1!
[00007f5a68000f18] libbluray demux: First play: 1, Top menu: 1
HDMV Titles: 1, BD-J Titles: 89, Other: 0
[00007f5a700009b8] core input error: open of `bluray:///dev/sr0' failed
...
This happens no matter whether I use makemkv 1.9.10 or 1.10.0 (registered versions). The disk opens fine from within the makemkv gui, though.

I created symlinks in /usr/lib according to http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic ... 009#p29303 and also in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu, which -- according to http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=173474&page=7 -- might additionally be necessary under some circumstances.

I'm running an up-to-date Debian Jessie with some packages (including libbluray1 and libbluray-bdj) from backports.

Any thoughts?

Cheers --

OK,

stupid me -- forgot to mount the disk before attempting to play it... Works fine now.

Sorry for bothering --
