VLC snap and BD read

Hello Guys,
On my Ubuntu laptop, I often read Blu Ray discs I get from the library. Fine.
More and more apps are transitioning from .deb packages to snap.
So I fear at some point they would remove the deb version entirely.
I'm wondering if we will still be able to play Blu Ray discs using VLC as a snap ? Because the decoding library won't be included in the restricted container VLC as a snap will use ?
What do you think ? Are some of you already running VLC as a snap ? And can play Blu Ray discs ?
