Problem "No disc inserted"

Post by ischrocke »

Hi @ all,
I tried today makemkv for the first time to rip a bluray disc. My bluray device is available in makemkv but when I insert a disc (DVD and BluRay) nothing happens. I always get the message "No disc inserted".

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Please click on preferences, on General tab enable "log debug messages", on IO tab enable "disable direct access" and restart the program. Then copy log messages from lower window and post the log file here.

Hey all... I'm having the same issue as stated above. But on top of that issue MakeMKV isn't even displaying any disc source or any additional drive information. Every time I go to insert a blue-ray (Black Hawk Down) MakeMKV can't find the disc and in result my Mac (version 10.5.8) ends up just spitting out the disc.

The error code text I get is:
MakeMKV v1.5.3 beta darwin(x86-release) started
Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as /Users/havenbrady/MakeMKV_log.txt
DEBUG: Code 4294967295 at StF3xhWRJ;!o;$'Gm:`8_B.3?ac:29399128
Cannot obtain exclusive access for optical drive "HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS21N SA18" - disc reading will likely fail. You may want to eject and reload the disc while makemkv is running.

The program can't find any usable optical drives.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. :)

Please check "disable direct access" in MakeMKV preferences on IO tab and restart the application.
