I tried to rip The Last Emperor 3D, on OS X and on Windows and in both it failed to open, here is the log from OS X.

What can be wrong?

MakeMKV v1.10.3 darwin(x86-release) started
Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as /Users/jahedderich/MakeMKV_log.txt

It doesn't seem that MakeMKV found any titles that were longer than your 10 minute minimum, but that seems VERY strange, even if you were looking at the "extras" disk.

I would recommend following the FAQ listed in my signature to send the requested files to support@makemkv.com, for Mike to look at. The debug messages usually mean that something unexpected was found, which can be caused by a dirty disk, but that's uncertain, because there were no actual error messages about not being able to read the disk... Just that what WAS read was unexpected.

Thanks for your reply, the disks opens fine in DVDfab and in Leawo Prof Media, the disk is the movie disk, no extra disks on the package and I have sent the files requested for Aquamarine Blu-Ray and The Last Emperor 3D to support@makemkv.com and never got a reply or the disks working at a later date after an Update. I am a Paying customer and I expect at least a reply.

Thanks for your help

FYI, I too purchased this title from Amazon Italy. Same issue. I can reduce the time to like 10 seconds to get some titles but the longest is like 00:01:28 so very short. Will hope for a future fix. Log like above.

Thanks

I have an issue with this disc as well. Mac, MakeMkv 1.14.4, Opens disc and shows only one file of 283.2 mb which copies fine but it's just the title.
Anyone?
This is the Italian 3d disc.

I'm having the same issue.
The only the 282MB header video is located.
But the disc does contain 38GB and 11GB m2ts files under BDMV/STREAM. Copying all the content to a HD and trying to open various content files with makemkv didn't locate those files.

I have the same issue, so I've submitted a support request.

Thanks John.

If this gets addressed, how would be this happen? A new version of the software needs to be rolled out?

I have the same issue. It seems like MovieRescuer is able to see the movie and extract it, however it does not have the 3D part. John, where is the support request? Maybe I can post this info there..

This topic is almost 4 years old. Most likely errors now would be from a dirty disk, unless you're using a version of MakeMKV from 2016.

My disc is pristine new, just opened form the case. I have the very latest makemkv, 1.15.0, so no, the issue is still there unfortunately

And the advice given in the second message still applies; follow the FAQ link in my signature and submit the requested information to the program author, for him to look at it.
