MakeMKV will load up MPLS list, but will not actually rip

Post by YouWho »

I just got a new MBP 16. I have the latest 10.15.2 OS and MakeMKV 1.14.7.

On this machine, I am able to use either my Samsung BD or Archon UHD drives to retrieve the MPLS lists for any disk. However, once I select it and hit the rip button, it just sits there and the BD/UHD drive stops spinning. It never even puts up any progress. You can not halt the activity by pressing the stop button (the hand).

Using the same disks and the same drives on my MacBook Air 2018 also running the same OS and MakeMKV, I am able to read the MPLS list and rip the files successfully, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with the drives or disks.

----

I migrated my old 10.14 install from a 2011 MBP to the 2019 MBP 16 and it had worked fine there.

----

I have attached the log, but it is pretty devoid of interesting details. Debug logging was enabled.

Let's start with simple things. Please open activity monitor, find makemkvcon (makemkvcon!), click a gear button at top and select spindump. Please send the produced text file to support@makemkv.com . Thanks!
