DASPI kernel extension, and maybe flush caches or something?

Post by captain »

The sticky announcement at the top of this forum says to install DASPI 1.2. Aren't we using 1.3 now?

Optical drive "BD-ROM PLEXTOR BDDVDR PX-B310U 1.07" opened in DASPI v1.3 mode.

I solved a problem with a rip reporting the ubiquitous "scsi error" that seems to mean "your disc is bad or your blu-ray drive is bad". The solution is to powercycle the drive and restart MakeMKV (OS reboot not necessary by today's experiment).

It seems to me that MakeMKV could be made smart enough to clear out whatever the powercycle/app-restart is clearing, which would go a long way to making MakeMKV ready for prime time, IMHO.

Alas, I also washed the disc with dish soap, so that corrupted the experiment. Sorry. But in the past, the powercycle/app-restart has solved the problem without washing the disc, so I think this may be a valid issue.
