Returned this problem when reading a .ISO

Post by Claudio »

Running Snow Leopard 10.6.1 on a 2.33 GHz MacBook Pro.

I got the Blu-Ray .ISO file using a PlayStation 3 and SAK.

Does this seem like a problem with the .ISO file or MakeMKV? I've ripped DVD's with no problem.

I replaced my internal optical drive with a MCE second HDD, so I use an external Samsung DVD drive instead. Is this why I get "can't find usable optical drives?"

Thanks guys

MakeMKV needs to access the fiscal drive.

Side note: if your using linux, in stead of using the swiss army knife. You could just simply use "dd" to back it up.

Code: Select all

dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/root/bluray.iso
If you had windows, you could just use AnyDVDHD to decrypt it then use MakeMKV or just pull out the m2ts file with tsmuxer.

In addition to ISO file MakeMKV needs to know a volume key to decrypt files. It can either read it from the disc or you have to supply it by hand if you're processing iso files. Try to find VUK for your disc at http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=120988 . If you have just ISO image but no volume key then there is nothing that can be done :(
