My intent for MakeMKV is to create a complete digital library backed up of my Blu Rays on a hard drive.
I'm ripping on an iMac with the following specs:
Processor 2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 256 MB
Serial Number W89114KW0TL
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b)
The model is a late 2009 iMac. I am running into a unique problem. I'm a huge movie buff and a videographer myself and I'm running the rips off of my WD Live through a 2TB USB 3.0 hard drive formated for NTFS Tuxera. The rips play just fine but my biggest issue is that in certain films such as Gladiator or Iron Man I'm noticing a level of grain, or possibly pixelation, not present on my blu-ray disc. I've tried these rips several times but it always seems to produce the same result. The picture is by no means horrible but I'm very particular about my rips and want to figure out the best possible way to retain the quality I see through the PS3 or any other blu-ray player. I haven't changed any of the settings on the rips, are there some I should try?
