I just add to my previous comment that my mkv were made from DVD not BR DVD, so only 2 ref frames might be enough. However, still no solution for my audio track change problem.

I also have a LG BD 570
It can play mkv's without any problems ( Video H264 and Audio ACC ) if you wanna have subtitles to the movie, you need to put them outside the matroska container.
I use handbrake for the video/audio encoding ( to create a mkv file )
Then i use subrip to rip and convert into a srt file.
So i end up with 2 files. Eks (Testing.mkv and Testing.srt).
It works perfekt

Cheers to all developers for this great piece of software, keep up the good work. :D

What program do you recommend for reading a video file to see all of its settings? I have an MKV file that will play on WMP12 but will not stream through the WMP12 DLNA to the BD570. VLC says the Codec is H264-MPEG-4 AVC (part10) (avc1) and audio is DTS Audio (dts). Other MKVs in that format seem to stream just fine.

On a different note, I thought the whole purpose of a DLNA server like WMP12 was to have WMP12 do the transcoding and then deliver a signal that the BD570 could use. Any idea why I can view this file on WMP12 on my computer but not on the BD570?

This is a somewhat known issue with hardware players and a new default mkvmerge feature. To fix:
in Mkvmerge(gui)set the "Compression" option on the "Extra Options" tab for all tracks to "None". Do not leave blank, you have to set it to "None".

Thank you. What setting in my text details indicates that problem so that I know what to look for next time?

Also, can I "fix" this file by running it through makemkv or RipBot264?

No, you can only reprocess it with mkvmerge(gui) (note that ripbot and most other x264 gui's use mkvtoolnix too)
http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/

Btw, im not sure what happens if you try to reprocess it after header compression/removal. You may need to remux from the source files with header intact.

HEY HEY.. sorry to bring back this thread from the dead.. but I just got the BD570, and love it.. only problem is that on DATA CDs or DVD, you can only forward at one speed.. and it happens to be the slowest speed.. :( any way to fix this?? are there options?
