Can't Rip - Drive Just Spins

Post by jwrusa »

This is the first time I have experienced this:

1. The program preloads everything fine.
2. I tick off the files I need ripped, choose drive and hit Make MKV
3. The drive just spins - first at a high rate then slows down. Progress bar doesn't fill out.

I'm ripping a commercial DVD with DRM.

Can anyone help?

Debug log would help a lot - see the FAQ link in my signature if you are unfamiliar with debug mode.

The debug 0 errors usually appear when MakeMKV is having trouble getting proper responses from the drive, such as when it is having trouble reading the disk. Have you tried cleaning the disk?

It seems to be all the discs in this one collection:

https://www.amazon.com/William-Collecti ... B000Q7ZLUG

Other discs work fine. Just tested a few.

Tested another drive as well. Same issue.

Very strange ...

The "spinning endlessly" actually looks like this issue, given that this is a "classic" DVD set:

I encountered it on "Gone with the Wind".

Now it seems to work - just took forever to get going!

Thanks for trying to solve my issue, man :-)
