Ripping a IDVD twice produces files with different hashes

Post by White »

Hi,

I ripped a disk and all 4 episodes are ripped "successfull" and than out of curiosity I ripped the same disk again and all the files have different checksums.
Till today I was assuming that when MakeMKV saved a file I can be sure that there are no read errors and this is a exact bitwise copy of the movie. Is this assumption wrong? Or what do I miss?

Check the metadata in the file - it contains the date/time when it was ripped. Different times, different hashes.
