Issue with 'Corrupt Sector' but yet.....

Post by neilwilkes »

Not at all sure what happened here, but I was trying to back up to an MKV from a legally owned replica version of "Hunter Killer" and found that MakeMKV was throwing error after error about corrupt sectors in a VOB file, and the disc itself could simply not be ripped even though the day before I had played it through on my set top player with no glitches whatsoever.
So I went to Plan B, loaded AnyDVD HD and Clone DVD and made a Video_TS from the original, minus any CSS protection (haha) and went to rip the files instead.
This worked, even though I still got a heap of "corrupt sector...attempting to work around' errors, and I got my MKV file.
I have also attached the 'private data' file generated by this disc in the hope you can tell me what happened?

I removed your attachment because it does not contain information useful to this.

What WOULD be useful is the debug log (link in my signature explains that), but unreadable sectors is most likely a disk fault.

Have you read the message at the top of the Bluray forum about rip errors?
