The bfi box set "Woodfall – A Revolution in British Cinema" contains 8 films on 9 discs (with two cuts of TOM JONES). Two of the discs are straightforward (with a single playlist for the main feature), the others yield enormous numbers of fake titles. Unlike other users, I have never seen MakeMKV suggest a main feature on my setup (MakeMKV v1.14.2, macOS 10.14.3), and identify the playlists in question on my own.

These are the correct playlists for the films in the set, I hope they're of use for someone:

Delayed response, but... Thanks for this—these were the first discs where I’ve encountered the issue, so your post saved me a lot of time.

Out of curiosity, how did you determine the correct playlists? I’ve found two more boxsets in my collection—the BFI Alan Clarke set and one of Indicator’s Hammer Films sets—with the same playlist issue, and I don’t see any indications as to which is the correct one. I also haven’t found any more info by googling their titles, probably because they’re relatively niche releases.

Sorry to reply so late, I should visit the forum more often.

I determined the playlists manually by looking at the segments' starts and endings. This will tell you the one valid sequence to look for. Then I admit I waded through the segment maps on offer (you get into the habit quickly and get used to skimming the list for just likely candidates) until I saw the good map and selected that.

The process can be tedious (or meditative ) . I am sure there are discs out there from other labels (with endless misleading maps) where this is not a viable way to go. With bfi releases it's not too bad.

If you know of a less time-consuming mode that works, I'm listening!

I have the BFI stand alone Blu Ray for this movie "The Knack... and How to Get It "(1965) ..released by BFI June 18, 2018. My info is slightly different concerning the File name which was t317.mkv. The segment map and source file name are verified correct for this movie. A big Thank you to "Hofmeister "for sorting out the segment map, which had over 400 different ones to choose from on my stand alone disk from BFI. A real timesaver that was!!

I came to the same result.

I have the single stand alone BLU RAY of the BFI " THE ENTERTAINER"
I found the map slightly different than the 9 disk package.
it is located at T232 not T233 but the 00572.mpls is the same on both the single disk and the 9disk package.

Title # will vary, depending on the value of "Minimum title length (in seconds)" set in Preferences > Video tab. Of little value when identifying the "correct" title. Look for the "playlist" (.mpls) instead.

I was grateful to see your analysis of this disc. In my case, the file name was wrong, i.e. not t374. But, I could use the segment map to track down the correct file, which turned out to be t373.

Title numbers depend on how you set the minimum time. If you set a minimum time of 120 seconds, it will count only titles that are 120 seconds (2 minutes) long; if you set 1200, it will only count titles that are 1200 seconds or longer (20 minutes). So the "txxx" will change for different people.
