Optical disk not found

Post by thelangs »

With the lastest MS update version 2004.
Makemkv fails with the message : "The program can't find any usable optical drives"
If I uninstall/reinstall. its ok, until I close the app and start it again, then the same error message?

Search for "ransomware exception windows 10" and you should find official documentation on how to tell Win10 that MakeMKV isn't a ransomware program, and it should be allowed access to your optical drives.

Check the drive name in Device Manager, and then reinstall the drive in Device Manager to determine if Windows is able to recognize the drive. In Windows, search for and open Device Manager. Double-click DVD/CD-ROM drives to expand the category. If DVD/CD-ROM drives is not in the list, skip to Reset the computer power.
