RWBY Volume 3, 4, and 6 rip wrong

Post by ccateni »

For RWBY Volume 1, 2, and 5, they rip the main tv series as movie as one file (ironic since 5 doesn't have a play as movie mode, but I digress). However with 3, 4, and 6, I'm having issues where makemkv has the play as movie in separate files, not like episodes which all ripped fine separately, but chunks of the full "movie" is split into 2-3 parts for no reason. I can't figure out why since the disc clearly play them like movies if you select the option, and the other volumes don't have this problem. Anyone have any good ideas?

Checked handbrake using volume 3, and it found the full movie at file 01012, however makemkv claims its 01012 is 2:22:04 while handbrake is at proper 2:56:55 length of the file. Is makemkv reading something wrong?

I have the RWBY Collection volumes 1-6 on Blu-Ray UPC 7 67685 16222 4.
MakeMKV version is 1.15.3 Win64 version.
I have the same problems you guys have with Vols. 3-6
However, I have an additional prob that is kind of baffling. No audio track is getting ripped out on any of the files from Vol 1-6.
I thought I was doing something wrong (me being stupid) but then the same thing happened with Armored Troopers VOTOMS. (yeah, I dig Anime)
Any troubleshooting I can do on my end would be super helpful. I am willing to lab rat this thing all the way through whatever rat maze I need to puzzle out.

If you have a preferred language set on the language tab of MakeMKV's preferences and the disc in question doesn't have that language, you can end up with no audio.
