I am old user but have not been here in a while.
I watch the RedB version and found to be in the title 180 to be the correct.
I watched it over again to verify.

The redbox version does appear to be 641.

The garage scenes appear to be out of sequence but my software player just confirms to be bad editing. John asked if they were here then jumps to John Leguizamo asking Alfie where he got the car from. Lionsgate sucks!

Anyone know the proper sequence for the segment map , US and or Canadian Retail version .

Seems to me the proper segment sequence would make the decision what title to rip a lot simpler .

That sequence would make the Canadian retail version of 00589 wrong then !

The segment map for 589 is ... 513,509,504,512,502,508,518,505,503,510,506,516,507,511,519,514,501,517,520

That was not bad editing. That is the intentionally flow of how that particular flashback plays out in the movie. At ~16:57, Alfie brings the car to Aureilo and Aureilo asks Alfie, "Where'd you get that car?" The movie jumps back to John discovering the car is gone from his garage. When John comes to the chop shop and asks Aureilo if the car was there, there is a flashback to when Alfie first brought the car to Aureilo. This flashback shows what happened after Aureilo asked Alfie a second time where he got the car.

It can be both deliberate and bad, you know!

Like I said, "bad editing". Like on Saturday night live skit, the lazy editor forgot to use the cheesy "flashback" sound. :D Anyway , thanks for conformation.

This is what Make MKV shows me for 589... on a retail US disc from Amazon.com.

Image

I'll be watching the rip tomorrow during the day if all goes as planned so I can verify 100%.

Edit - Ended up having time tonight to watch the rip and its perfect. So 589 it is, just that my segments dont match up for some reason.

MKV TITLE: JOHN_WICK_RENTAL
Source: Red Box
File Size:22.2 GB (23,891,001,200 bytes)
Converter: Handbrake
Movie Length: 01:41:12
Nearly All of my movie length are listed at this length FYI a couple a 1 min. longer
00404.mpls had an inaccurate switch the doctor scene from the Hotel was spliced in the middle of the Hotel fight Scene. As Far as I can tell that was the only scene that was inaccurate, I will check back once I have tested the others listed here I'll report back but with 260+ potential options it may take awhile to figure

Just Copied off the John Wick movie from a rental. Didn't use makemkv, I used 123 copy dvd, but still the same title.
Title 00491, watched the whole movie to make sure everything was in order. It seems 00489 is more a decoy, shows the first 15 min. then a copy protection blocks the screen. if you try to move the marker past that point, it will scramble the rest of the movie, and make it unwatchable. good luck. :D

I see the .mpls listing in the logs, but there doesn't seem to be any correlation with the screen display.
How do you determine which is the corect copy of the movie?

So is there a consensus on the different versions as to which mpls to use?
