Owner of a ASUS BW-16D1HT, on its way, should have it next week!
Where did you purchase your drive? I hope it comes with the "UHD Friendly" firmware.
Got it on ebay, works like a champ!

If you're going to buy a drive, buy it here, don't support those guys on eBay.

Yes it needs to be flashed with BU40N 1.00 which I am happy to send you. Alternatively I'll swap you a BU50N with supported firmware for yours.
Do you still have the BU40N 1.00 firmware? Can you please send it to me?

Use the LG patched flasher and the 1.0 DE enabled firmware and you can use it now

1st link in this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=16&t=18933#p70766

is to an archive containing both the tool & the prepared firmware images.

hey fellas. i just purchased the same LG drive as Dave77. i'd like to start using my drive to backup my 4k collection and after reading this thread i just wanted to get confirmation that im using the right tool and firmware. i've grabbed the zip file containing the asus tool and firmware. so if i use the asus tool and this firmware:
"DE_LG WH16NS60_1.00.bin" i'll get good to go?

spl147 said to use the "Use the LG patched flasher" but i only see the asus one in the zip file..is that considered the same?
thanks guys, i appreciate everything you all do for this group

V1.01 is going to be supported soon apparently, might be worth waiting a bit.

Cool. Thanks Dave. I'd rather not flash and run the risk of screwing up the drive.
Thanks again.

Correct. FYI, Both the modified ASUS tool and the LG tool do the same thing.
Cheers :D

Hi Folks,

I have just bought a WH14NS40 with SVC: NS50 and firmware 1.03 manufactured in November 2018.

Is this the correct forum thread or should I buy the WH16NS60 instead?

Thanks,

Paully
