Stand By Me 4k aacs 2.1/c v70

Post by charlie62 »

as title I have sent tgz file to Mike and a message concerning the 2.1. I take it this disc will not be decrypted by the current set up UK disc

Why create a duplicate post, when you already created a thread noting and discussing the exact same thing here:

https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 12&t=20225

:?: :?: :?:

There really isn't a need to spam the forum with duplicate posts/threads. One is sufficient for members to read, follow, and add to the conversation.

it was never my intention to spam or whatever, I thought no one was paying any attention to what I thought was something important ie another 4k disc with 2.1 protection on it. But it seems I was wrong and no one was interested so in future I will keep my observations to myself.

There is no need to go to that extreme either. That's just being senseless. Just because we do not jump out of our seats, stop our lives, and immediately respond to your needs or posts does not necessarily mean no one is paying attention. There can be a multitude of reasons no one has replied yet.

For example, I do not have this disc yet. Otherwise, I would have added to the conversation in your original post. I am not going to comment on something I can't validate on my own first otherwise I am just being unhelpful in providing unsubstantiated information to the community.

This community is very active and as things are discovered and more people run into these the dialog will start and continue. There are many prime examples of this across the forum.

Exercising a bit of patience and common sense goes a long way.

Do you know or why do you think this disc is AACS2.1? Do you have a hex editor handy? If so, could you please open the MKB.RO.inf file on the disc and copy/paste the first row (16 bytes) of data.

Thanks
Cheers :D

As I don't even know what a hex editor is you can forget that side of things. I saw the version given as aacs 2.1/c v70 so that's where I get 2.1 the other movies in the folder show 2.0 . Sorry if that's not enough.

Ok, I believe you but to be 100% certain, we need to see the mkb_ro.inf file. Could you upload this file somewhere and give us the download link?

As you may have guessed my computer skills are limited ! taken from the dump file it reads mkb21 stand by me 71ce tgz. I sent the file on Tuesday to Mike but have not noticed any change in behaviour of the decryption. He is a busy man so this is probably not at the top of his to do list.

Came here to check this as I'm currently having this issue. I also don't know how to check if Stand By Me is AACS 2.1, and there's every chance Mike is just a busy guy. I sent the dump before I saw this.

makemkv shows you the protection type when a disc is loaded. On top left side in the main window.

Are you able to either upload the MKB_RO.inf file from the UHD disc somewhere and give us the download link or open the MKB_RO.inf file in a hex editor (HxD is a good one and it's free!) and copy/paste the first line (16 bytes). I will then be able to confirm it.

Thanks

Believe me the protection is aacs 2.1 it's on the dump file also the first page when it tries to decrypt the file up in big letters 2.1 protection. Anyway Mike must know what's up with it as I sent him the dump a week ago. I'm not going to bother any more about this disc as it now joins Fury and The Patriot as being undecryptable. At the end of the day there's more to life than worrying about something you have no control over.

Yes, thank you!

The disc type for a normal AACS2 UHD disc is "48 14 10 03" whereas an AACS 2.1 UHD disc type is "48 15 10 03". So that confirms that this disc is indeed AACS 2.1. Hopefully Mike will now start looking into a resolution (if he wasn't before! LOL)

Cheers!

I take it the protection 2.1 on Stand By Me is the same as Fury and The Patriot which if I understand correctly cannot be decrypted yet.
