Thanks for the post. Have never used one of these because they are not available in UK, well only at extortionate prices on Amazon. Can I ask what you pay in US?

@tragic bleak,
Thanks so much for your guide and updating it. Following your suggestion and this guide.
I bought the LG WH16NS60, it came with fw 1.02. I had it installed and ripping in one of my UHD Blu rays in 15 minutes.
Thanks again for your time and effort in creating this guide.
Mark.

I must be doing something wrong because it takes me 40 or so minutes to RIP a 4K UHD disk now. I am curious how you got the speed so fast.

40 mins is normal for a 66 GB disk 100GB discs 60 mins

Yes Billy is correct. 15 min to install and flash the drive. I ripped a UHD disk successfully. It did take around 40 minutes.

So i have a LG WH16NS60. I flashed it in august 2019 to v1.01 that is libre drive enabled. Should i flash to 1.02mk? i've been getting a lot of disc read errors as of late and not sure if upgrading firmware will allow for a better ripping experience.

Hoping it's a bad disk. Can't get fury but was able to get Spider-Man 2002 today on same drive.

My question is does 1.02mk offer any advantages to my 1.01? Uhd playback isn't too important to me.

Question for the experts here, I just bought a WH16NS60 that was manufactured on 20191029. It came with 1.02 firmware. I flashed the 1.02 MK firmware according to these instructions. At 100%, I got a message that said "Update Failed The drive may will be emergency mode This mode is allowed only F/W flash Sense 00/00/00".

I rebooted, and my drive appears to be working fine, and MakeMKV shows it as LibreDrive enabled. Am I good to go? Was this error harmless? Thanks for the all the work collecting this information in one place and the help!
