Asus BC-12B1ST 3.11 Firmware Date 2119-20-27 13:21

Post by Freshie »

I flashed my drive, and everything went fine. I just thought I should mention that the Firmware Date now reads 2119-20-27 13:21
It doesn't seem to be a problem, but I thought it might cause issues in the future.

That is how some drive manufacturers (e.g LG, ASUS, PIONEER, etc) date their firmwares. It has nothing to do with MakeMKV or the modifications used/provided within the walls of this forum. As that part is not touched by the modifications that have taken place within the firmware versions used/provided here. If you would a like a change at that level or end up having some extremely rare and/or weird problem with that date format on your drive’s firmware (highly doubtful and unsure where you got such an idea that it would be a problem in the future ???) you will need to contact the drive manufacturer directly. Although, there is no guarantee anything will change as that has been the date code/format for 10+ years coming from said manufacturers.

As @st4evr said....

If you didn't notice, the date on your drive before flashing would have also been 2119-xx-xx.
Cheers :D

Thanks for the info. I'm not having any problems. I just thought I would report it in case it was within LibreDrive.
I thought that if there was a check for updates and the driver was future dated the update may not get applied.
Cheers.

Firmware and “driver” are two very different things and that is not how this works.
