Info on flashing LG BU40N

Hi all,

Have run into a few troublesome discs on my Asus drive, so I've purchased an LG BU40N to try. A little confused on what to do assuming the drive comes with the newest factory firmware. It sounds like I need to cross flash it to a different drive and then downgrade. Which drive though?

Is it the general consensus that the BU40N tends to have fewer issues than other drives?

You should post what Makemkv reports about your firmware since there are several versions of MK firmware for this type of drive. We'll see then.

Do not crossflash it
