Hey, I was looking for the correct playlist for the Salo bluray (BFI version). I sent the info to support as posted but haven't heard anything back in a little over a week. I'm sure you're busy but wasn't sure if you received it or needed anything else. Just let me know. Thanks

Is the “fake playlist” strictly a Lionsgate blue-ray disc issue or does in include regular DVD’s from them?

Yes, unfortunately, the DVDs are also screwy, just fewer fake titles.

Thanks Woodstock. BTW, is there an explanation on how to deal with Lionsgate disc, written in layman’s terms. I’m new to burning disc and setting up my new NAS. Thanks...

My way of avoiding the problem is to avoid Lionsgate... But, that's not practical for people who want the latest movies. If they were to invade the anime market, it would probably blow up on them.

By "Fake Playlists" do you mean the way things are done using the Scrambling protection from Allatori?
I ask because all our BD-J titles have the code scrambled - and we do this to make it very difficult, if not downright impossible, to allow other 'authors' an easy way to steal our code, which has taken years to develop and that we consider proprietary property - even though Java is open source we still had to learn how to code these discs.

If you are referring to something else, I will be happy to help but wanted to get things out in the open in the first instance.

No, the obfuscation being discussed here is where multiple play lists, with varying segment maps, are used, only one of which is real. The Java code on the disk tells the player which one it is.

The Java itself may be obfuscated, too. That might explain why "real" Oracle Java is necessary to interpret it; There have been issues with using OpenJDK. Whether those are because of the Java code itself, I do not know.

Is there a way to unselect all the playlists that default to selected when you scan a disc? Ctl-A doesn't work and unchecking each playlist is really a pain on Lionsgate titles.

Right-click on the title list & choose "Unselect all".

The Crtl+A worked for me once. Then it would not work. Curious.

Keyboard commands depend on where the "focus" is; you have to select the left window before Ctrl-A would work, either by clicking on it or using Ctrl-Tab to switch between windows. Clicking is faster, and a RIGHT-click selects it AND brings up the context menu, so it's kind of a win-win.

With DVDs they often route you through an area of the disc that doesn't exist, so you get read errors (bad sectors.)
I have not seen MakeMKV identify correct playlists on DVDs.

Sorry of this is the wrong place. But with the current version 1.15.4, is this still a topic? Do I have to worry that my ripped BDs and UHD are screwed?

Not sure what you mean by "screwed".
